The American Library Association’s Annual Conference and Expo wrapped up in New Orleans this week completing our seventh consecutive year exhibiting at the show! Each year we have great success and a lot of fun meeting librarians and library associates from across the nation.
Over 19,800 attendees circulated the Expo floor this year. The most common questions from attendees visiting the SenSource booth included:
• Where can I mount the LCD display for the new PC-1D6M patron counter?
This display has numerous mounting options and can be mounted at eye-level as opposed to gate counters with patron count data inconveniently displayed near the floor.
• What is SenSource Vea Software?
Our software collects, stores and displays patron count data for easy report generation – no manual counting or data entry.
• What are networked patron counters?
These patron counters communicate over your existing network to automatically deliver data from each library branch to a single headquarter location.
While our sales reps, Dan and Jonathan, were busy answering such inquiries in New Orleans, those of us back at the office were accessing the #ala11 Twitter feed for up to the minute posts from the Expo floor. Twitter has played an increasingly important role over the past years as it closely joins together the ALA community. Tweeps not only converse before, during and after the show, they also post pictures, recommendations and setup dates to meet their new online friends in person at the show.
