We’re sure you’re familiar with the saying, “there’s a right and a wrong way to do things” in reference to all sorts of activities. Most companies would agree that there are steps you can take to make sure their products are being used to achieve optimal results. This is also true for our Thermal Imaging Counter with TCP/IP Connectivity. The following is part one of a three part series compiled from several of our manuals and guides to ensure our products provide the most accurate data. While our Thermal Imaging Counter has settings to overcome some miscounts due to loitering, it is always best to plan an entryway that creates a steady stream of traffic moving into your facility.
Part 1: Location
The usefulness of your people counting data is a result of your system’s accuracy and your confidence in the data. The counting system always works best when it is monitoring traffic where people are continually moving in and out of the sensing area. Installing the system in entryways where visitors linger or congregate results in inaccurate count data. Therefore, it is important to plan your facility’s floor plans and points of interest with your counter’s sensing area in mind.
