For the first time in over 15 months, our team has returned to the office in full. Many team members had been working remotely throughout the pandemic. In fact, there were several team members who had never met face-to-face since they started right before or during the pandemic.
It was decided, as a team, there was no better way to celebrate coming back together than paying it forward! This decision resulted in two separate activities where we were able to support our local community.
The first was a company wide breakfast prepared by the Marketing department. Traditional breakfast with all the fixings was provided, but the cost from each team member was a Play-Doh set donation. These Play-Doh sets were collected and then giving to Project MKC for their Comfort Kit program. Project MKC is a Youngstown based non-profit that supports children of various needs in the community. The Comfort Kit program provides care bags to children entering the foster care system. The bags are filled with items such as personal toiletries, books, school supplies, toys, and a blanket to help what is likely an extremely difficult transition. It is a cause near and dear to our hearts here at SenSource and we are very proud that we supplied 23 Play-Doh sets for this program. The second activity was our very first Volunteer Day in more than 15 months! Potential Development, a Youngstown school for children with autism, posted they were in need of some volunteers to help with landscaping and post-winter clean-up, and we were excited to answer the bell for them! A large crew of team members brought tools from home and spent a sun-drenched day weeding, raking, and cleaning up the parking lots and playground at the school. As we all begin to emerge from the pandemic and get back to life as we once knew it, SenSource is excited to return to regular opportunities to serve our community and give back in many ways. As our President, Joe Varacalli, always says; “business does not just exist to make money, but to make people.”
