Custom Date Range Reporting

November 6, 2023

Today’s tip is a minor technique to improve your reports in our Vea Analytics people counting software. In this video we’ll show you how to use the custom date range filter.

There are many ways to customize your data views in Vea whether in a dashboard or a data grid.

If you’d like to report on a defined time when building a dashboard, you’ll select and add your widget. A box will appear to configure the widget.

Let’s say we had an event last week on Wednesday and Thursday and we want to see the traffic patterns by hour for those two days.

You’ll configure your widget settings, then select the Date Range field and scroll to the bottom where you’ll find the Custom Date Range option. We can set the date to Wednesday at midnight and end date Thursday at 11:59 pm.

These settings populate a nice line chart showing the traffic patterns during a custom date range.

Similarly, when creating a Data Grid, you can set all of your parameters and then scroll to the bottom of the Date Range field to find Custom.

Select Refresh and you’ll see your data grid for the custom date range and can export to Excel or continue analysis in Vea.

We hope you found this simple trick useful as you run traffic reports in Vea!
