Are you a congregation leader looking to modernize the way attendance is tallied for services? If you’re looking for a more consistent and accurate method than a manual headcount, then automated people counting equipment may be the upgrade you need.
Traditionally, churches keep track of how many people attend a service by having each family fill out a card or by having an usher count individuals as they entered the sanctuary. But as churches have grown, especially those with several hundred in the congregation, these methods have fallen to the wayside and more modern approaches have emerged.
Crossroads Church of Cincinnati, John Hagee Ministries, and Grace Family Church of Lutz, Florida are a few of the 40+ churches using SenSource’s automated people counting equipment to capture accurate congregation statistics.
How does it work?
A 3D stereo-video people counting sensor is mounted overhead at the entrance points to the sanctuary. The sensor’s intelligent algorithm detects and counts individuals, even in large crowds, and sends the time-stamped data to Vea Analytics Reporting Platform. Church administrators can log into Vea to view how many people attended each service and even break it down into separate child and adult counts.
How is the data used?
Not only is it useful information to gauge the church’s growth, but attendance data can also help guide critical decisions such as additions to staff, building renovations, or even campus expansions.
This automated church attendance counter method is a great tool for churches with multiple campuses, to ensure accurate and consistent data is captured at every service.
Over 22 million church attendees have been counted by SenSource to date, and the number grows every day. We’d love to show you a full demo of how our automated people counting equipment will benefit your church!
