2025 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® U.S. Championship

SenSource was proud to serve as the official crowd counter for the 2025 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® U.S. Championship, held during German Fest Milwaukee. This premier event brought together elite lumberjack athletes and enthusiastic fans from across the U.S. to witness high-adrenaline competition and celebrate German heritage.

As a trusted partner, SenSource provided cutting-edge people counting technology to deliver real-time attendance insights, helping STIHL better understand crowd dynamics and optimize event experience.

STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® is excited to finally have the capability to accurately measure crowd counts at our competitions. Capturing this data is invaluable, as it allows us to compare year-over-year and assess the success of each event.

The Challenge

STIHL needed accurate and real-time data on:

  • Event occupancy throughout the day
  • Peak traffic times
  • Average length of a spectator’s visit

Although the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® events are ticketed, many guests come and go throughout the day. Understanding crowd flow patterns was critical for both logistics planning and enhancing fan experience.

The Solution

SenSource deployed outdoor-rated people counting sensors across entrances and high-traffic areas. These sensors integrated with SenSource’s Vea cloud-based analytics platform, providing STIHL’s event team with real-time visibility into:

  • Total daily attendance
  • Entry and exit trends
  • Live occupancy counts
  • Visitor duration metrics

These insights enabled better operational decisions, from staffing and operational planning to peak-time programming.
